Duplex Steel Tubing generally consists of 22–25% chromium, 4–6% nickel, and 3–5% molybdenum, with the rest consisting mainly of iron. This alloy has the best properties of both austenitic and ferritic stainless steels, making it have an outstanding corrosion resistance and high mechanical strength. Key characteristics are a tensile strength ranging from 620–850 MPa, yield strength of 450 MPa, and elongation of around 25%. The tube has excellent pitting resistance, crevice corrosion resistance, and stress corrosion cracking resistance. Due to its high strength-to-weight ratio, low wall thickness can be maintained, making it economical and yet durable for high-performance applications.
