SS 904L Welded Tubing contains a composition of 19–23% chromium, 23–28% nickel, 4–5% molybdenum, and 1–2% copper, with low carbon levels (≤0.02%). These give it high corrosion resistance, particularly against aggressive acids and chlorides. The tubing has a tensile strength of 490–550 MPa and yield strength of 220 MPa. It has good resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion. Welded 904L remains corrosion-resistant even without post-weld heat treatment, which makes it ideal for severe chemical and marine environments.
