The two most common alloys for copper nickel mechanical tubing are 70/30 (Cu 70%, Ni 30%) and 90/10 (Cu 90%, Ni 10%). Small amounts of iron and manganese are also present in these alloys, which improves their strength and resistance to corrosion, particularly in applications involving seawater. The mechanical tubing has an elongation of about 30–40%, a yield strength of 100–200 MPa, and a tensile strength of 300–500 MPa. Excellent formability, weldability, and resistance to stress corrosion cracking are guaranteed by these qualities. For mechanical and structural applications where accuracy and resistance to corrosion are crucial, the tubing is perfect.
