Duplex Steel ERW Pipes are produced from a combination of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels, commonly comprised of 18–28% chromium, 3–7% nickel, up to 5% molybdenum, and a dash of added nitrogen for improved strength. This alloy offers very good mechanical properties, such as tensile strength of 620 MPa and yield strength of approximately 450 MPa. These pipes offer very good resistance to crevice corrosion, pitting, and stress corrosion cracking. Some other advantages are weldability, less weight, and cost savings, making Duplex Steel ERW pipes a perfect choice for aggressive conditions and high-technology industrial processes.
