Monel Instrumentation Tubing is a high-performance alloy consisting mostly of 63–70% nickel, 28–34% copper, and small amounts of iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon. The constituents provide superior corrosion resistance, especially in seawater and acidic service. The tubing has a tensile strength of about 70,000 psi, good ductility, and superior thermal stability. Monel provides good weldability and resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking, and to alkalis and is best suited for high-pressure instrumentation systems. Its good mechanical and chemical properties guarantee better performance and life in challenging industries.
