SMO 254 Tubing is made up of 20% chromium, 18% nickel, 6% molybdenum, and 0.2% nitrogen, which gives it outstanding corrosion resistance in environments rich in chlorides. The tubing has a minimum tensile strength of 650 MPa and a yield strength of 300 MPa, along with impressive elongation, making it ideal for forming and welding. With a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) of over 42, it shows excellent resistance to pitting, outperforming many duplex stainless steels. SMO 254 tubing effectively combines high mechanical strength with exceptional corrosion resistance in both oxidizing and reducing environments.
