**Stainless Steel 420 Tubing** is a martensitic stainless steel with a nominal composition of 12–14% chromium and higher carbon content (0.15% min) for increased hardness. It is possible to heat treat it to provide hardness levels of up to 50 HRC or more. Physical and mechanical properties are tensile strength of 700–1000 MPa and yield strength of 345–690 MPa. SS 420 has good corrosion resistance in mild conditions, high polishability, and fatigue strength. It is magnetic in hardened as well as in annealed condition and ideal for form as well as function applications.
