Mechanical properties consist of a tensile strength of approximately 415–620 MPa and yield strength of about 205–275 MPa. SS 439 also possesses good resistance to stress corrosion cracking, superior weldability, and outstanding oxidation resistance up to 875°C. Its resistance against thermal cycling and low weld sensitization susceptibility render it ideal for automotive and industrial heat-related uses.
