904L Stainless Steel Heat Exchanger Tubing consists of a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel with around 19–23% chromium, 23–28% nickel, 4–5% molybdenum, and 1–2% copper. The alloy contains excellent resistance against pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, particularly in acids like sulfuric acid. The mechanical properties consist of a tensile strength of 490–740 MPa and a yield strength of about 220 MPa. These tubes provide great thermal conductivity, resistance to pressure, and weldability, making them best suited for heat exchanger applications under harsh chemical and thermal stress.
