Super Duplex Steel Coil Tubing consists of an even microstructure of about 50% austenite and 50% ferrite, with the alloying elements consisting of chromium (about 22–25%), nickel (5–7%), molybdenum (3–4%), and nitrogen (0.14–0.20%). Such a composition gives the material exceptional strength with tensile strengths of up to 850 MPa and better pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking resistance. The tubing has high toughness, good weldability, and chloride-induced corrosion resistance and is therefore appropriate for challenging industrial conditions.
