Titanium Grade 8 Pipes are manufactured from a titanium alloy with about 99% titanium content, with minor additions of palladium (0.12–0.25%) for the purpose of increasing corrosion resistance, particularly in reducing and mildly oxidizing conditions. These pipes have great resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion and thus are best suited for severe chemical environments. They possess mechanical properties comparable to commercially pure titanium grades, such as tensile strength of approximately 344 MPa and good ductility. Titanium Gr 8 Pipes are not magnetic, are lightweight, and provide good weldability and are thus best suited for specialized industrial purposes.
